Being an Orientation Leader changed me in 3 months I could talk about how it’s been great for my career and how great my team and supervisors are, sure those things are true, but I have seen changes in myself…

Today a student lunged to embrace me, a student who though not the best with his words,spoke to me in a way I have not felt in a while. Embraced me with a pure degree of gratitude and sincerity which isn’t common in the World. Then off he went, awkwardly bumping shoulders, head towards his feet,laces untied with his shirt partly tucked in.

Turns out whether you hide your true self or not you will never truly fit in so you could as well just be yourself from the beginning, at least that has been my experience.
